>Croatan Village “Pathways” Program – Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

>
Today was the grand opening of the Croatan Village Assisted Living Facility’s “Pathways” unit. The “Pathways” program provides memory care for residents living with Alzheimer’s and other diseases that cause dementia and memory loss.

This special 18 bed unit has an “open concept living area” that provides a home-like atmosphere. The facility is outfitted with a kitchen, dining area, family room, large patio with a water fountain, and friendly staff.

“Pathways” is a small unit that provides residents with one on one caregiver support. Residents enjoy a number of activities to include arts and craft projects, bowling, and other choices of entertainment.

Members from the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce were on hand for today’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The Chamber’s President, Kevin Roberts and Executive Committee Member, Tom Braaten introduced Michael Bateman, Director of the Croatan Village Assisted Living Facility. Mr. Bateman’s Father was present along with North Carolina’s Executive Director of Assisted Living, Peggy Smith.

Special thanks to Barbara Hibbs, Marketing Director, for the tour!
