On Saturday May 22, The New Bern Bear Is Having a Birthday Party! The New Bern Historical Society and 300 children will be celebrating New Bern’s 300th with a birthday party for the New Bern Bear! Chair Cathy O’Brien has planned this fun-filled gathering which is sure to be a treat!

Each child will bring his/her favorite stuffed teddy bear (any stuffed animal will do) and join us for a birthday party carnival behind the Attmore-Oliver House. There will be fun-filled activities, treats and Bernie’s favorite snack ‘cub-cakes’! If you know a child who would like to attend please call the office to reserve a space for him/her. A parent must accompany each child during the party.

And if you would like to volunteer at this event call Lynne or Pat at the New Bern Historical Society office, 638-8558.

The event is FREE, but limited to 300 children. There will be three party shifts with 100 children attending in each shift. This fun activity is for children currently in Kindergarten through Fourth Grade. Bernie the Bear, mascot in the New Bern Historical Society office, says he can ‘bearly’ wait for the party to begin!
