Keller Williams Realty New Bern part of community service initiative in the US and Canada

New Bern NC—May 4, 2011— Keller Williams Realty associates may be taking the day off on Thursday, May 12, 2011, but it will hardly be a day of rest. Associates with the Keller Williams Realty New Bern Market Center have chosen to “Give Where They Live” as part of RED Day, one of the biggest events in the real estate industry.

Short for “Renew, Energize and Donate,” RED Day was created to unite Keller Williams Realty offices and associates in an international day of service.

As part of the RED Day effort, Keller Williams Realty New Bern has chosen to spend the day with Religious Community Services at 919 George Street, New Bern, beginning at 8:00 am. They will be painting the interior of a building next to the current RCS facility and enhancing the landscaping, as well as several other small improvements.

“This event is an entrenched part of Keller Williams Realty’s culture and displays the extraordinary effect a company can have when individuals come together to work as a team for the greater good of everyone.,” said Team Leader, Jim Fischetti. “Last year, we painted and landscaped at The Old Laundry/Arts Center at 901 Pollock Street, New Bern. We can’t tell you what an impact it made on each of us personally-it felt so great to give back to the community we know and love.”

“That a community of people (KW) would come together to give back with such joy and selflessness continues to be heart felt-every day. It was a day of hope for the future. I watched in awe that RED day in May 2010 as agent after agent from Keller Williams Realty in New Bern, pumped with so much energy, laughter and love, transformed a nondescript, old block warehouse into a place of beauty. Our greater community is a better place because of that one day when a corner of the world was transformed by a group of people willing to Renew, Energize, and Donate,” said Kathryn Adolph, whose facility received the Keller Williams New Bern efforts in 2010.

During RED Day 2010, over 35,000 Keller Williams associates participated in activities ranging from food and blood drives to cleaning up trash in public parks, doing yard work for neighbors in need or revamping gardens at nursing homes totaling more than 150,000 hours of service making RED Day one of the biggest events in the real estate industry.
