The New Bern Parks and Recreation Department is now registering boys and girls for our Hershey’s Track Program. Boys and Girls ages 9 to 14 can participate. We will be hosting a local meet in June at New Bern High School and winners will advance to the Eastern Region Meet in Greenville N.C.
We will be setting up practice meets in May for participants to prepare for their events. Some of the events include: 100 meter dash, 200 meter dash, standing broad jump and softball throw. All parents need to do is come by the West New Bern Recreation Center to complete the registration form for their child and pay a $5 fee.

The New Bern Parks and Recreation Department will be having our Annual Sports Camp for youth ages 6 to 12 years old. The camp will be held June 11 to June 15 and will consist of an introduction of the skills, methods and rules of different sports. Bowling, swimming, canoeing and other fun activities will be included. Parents may register at the West New Bern Recreation Center. The cost of the camp is $70 for City residents and $80 for Non-City residents.
