UPDATE: Captain Bly’s is out of business
With temperatures soaring in the high 90s – 100s, Captain Bly’s Shipwreck Cove is the place to cool down in New Bern, NC!
Thanks to Rich Sheridan, New Bern Now’s “Map Man” and owner of Crystal Coast Discovery Maps, for telling me about a new, fun, amusement park with water slides in town – Captain Bly’s Shipwreck Cove!
I had to see for myself so I popped in to visit the Blythe Family’s new business. Kelly Blythe and her husband run the business and Charles Blythe owns the company.
Kelly considers Captain Bly’s a “Get wet family fun center for all ages”.
They have miniature inflatable water slides for youngsters that are too small to ride the two – 24 foot water slides that end in a crystal clear and cool pool.
They also have a large miniature golf course, baseball batting cages, arcade with video games and Foosball table, indoor bounce houses, snack bar and more!
Captain Bly’s Shipwreck Cove is a perfect venue for kids’ birthday parties and they also welcome groups. Pirate Mike and his parrot, Pickles, entertain kids during birthday parties!
They have a snack bar with a large variety of tasty treats! Stop by for the local flavor of Maola Ice Cream, soft pretzels, nachos, chicken tenders, slushies, and more.
Captain Bly’s is a one-of-a-kind amusement park in New Bern. I’m predicting it will be one of the top places to visit this summer!
When I saw the water slides and crystal clear pool, I wanted to jump in; unfortunately, I didn’t bring my bathing suit. I will definitely be back to enjoy the cool water!
