The Gloria Morello Project encourages Community Arts

The original bisque and paint workshop was called the ‘Leave No Child Behind” workshop when the Community Artist Will (CAW) non-profit partnered with Craven Community College’s Alpha Phi Nu Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa and HJ McDonald Middle School 8th grade teacher Lisa McConnell in October 2013.

CAW re-named this workshop, “The Gloria Morello Project” after the wife of Tony Morello. Gloria passed away of cancer and her hobby was painting bisque sculptures. Tony Morello donated 500 – 1000 bisque sculptures created by his wife Gloria and are waiting to be glazed or painted during community projects!

Check out the video with Tony Morello, Artists Ben Watford, and Michaelé Rose Watson as they had a great time with residents of McCarthy Court Independent and Assisted Living. They are also planning a workshop in April with the Good Shepard Retirement Home on West St., Downtown New Bern.

The Community Artist Will invites you to join the Gloria Morello Project and help assist with future workshops.

Special thanks to Tony Morello, Artists Ben Watford and Michaelé Rose Watson along with volunteers and participants for carrying on Gloria Morello’s legacy.
