Monty Python’s Spamalot – Musical Comedy

Spamalot - New Bern Civic Theatre

Keith Boyd, Laura Johnson, and Rip Taggart

Laura Johnson interviewed Keith Boyd, Director of Spamalot and Rip Taggart, as King Arthur in the Musical Comedy adapted from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. We wanted to learn more about the New Bern Civic Theatre’s upcoming production. The interview is airing on New Bern’s News Talk Radio, WNOS 97.1FM and 1450AM. You can listen here:

Keith said, “It is simply the stage adaptation of the film which everybody loves, the classic comedy. You’ve got the scenes, “the knights of me”; the black knight; I’m not dead yet;” and more! “It’s put together by the amazing volunteers and community that we have here in New Bern”.

Rip described his character as, “King Arthur is a man who’s trying to bring chivalry to a rude and churlish time. He is the one sane person in an insane world”.

The show was produced by Nancy Hitchcock with Musical Direction by James Merritt.
