Craven County Partners In Education Announces Stuff the Bus Event

Craven County Partners In EducationPartners In Education, the education foundation for Craven County Schools, together with the Craven County Schools, are planning an opportunity for our community to donate school supplies for our students in need. Stuff the Bus will take place Saturday, August 16, 2014, from 9:00 am – 1:00 pm at the two Walmart Stores in New Bern (3105 Dr. M.L. King, Jr., Blvd., and 2915 Neuse Blvd.) and Havelock (566 U.S. 70). This event is coordinated with Back to School sales to encourage support of our efforts to assist families who may not have the resources to purchase school supplies for their child.

There will be a Craven County Schools bus parked in front of all three Walmart locations and we need your help with filling up the buses with school supplies: Paper, pencils, markers, crayons, erasers, glue sticks, tissues, and hand sanitizer are some of the items needed. A shopping list will be available the day of the event, and is currently available on the PIE website at www.CravenPartners.com.

Last year, through the generosity of our community, Partners In Education was able to assist over 350 students. Based on this success, Partners In Education is recruiting the help of all our community partners so that we are able reach more students this year.

There has been an overwhelmingly positive response to sponsorship requests for this program. Sponsors include: AlphaGraphics, BB&T, BSH, Bojangles, CarolinaEast Health System, Century 21 Zaytoun-Raines, Coastal Children’s Clinic, Craven County Schools, Duke Energy Carolinas, Fuel Market, Joe Alcoke Auto and Truck Sales, Martin Marietta Aggregates, Morgan’s Tavern & Grill, Bob 93.3 and WRNS, PotashCorp, Sun Journal, Ward and Smith, Wells Fargo, Weyerhaeuser Co., Williams-Scarborough-Smith-Gray, and WNBU – Talk Radio.
