Plans are well underway for the 2nd Annual “New Bern Get Your Pink On” event to benefit CCHC Foundation’s Journey of Hope Cancer Support Center, CarolinaEast Foundation and the Eastern North Carolina Young Survivors Coalition. The event will be held on Thursday, October 23 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at the Isaac Taylor Gardens in Downtown New Bern. Rain date is October 30 from 5:00 – 7:00pm at the same location.

Last year, 150 people attended the event in support of those affected by breast cancer. Guest speakers included Kim Hess, Executive Director of the CCHC Foundation and Journey of Hope Cancer Support Center as well as two breast cancer survivors who told their amazing stories. There were raffle prizes, activities for children and adults, hair and nail services, music and food.

This year’s event promises to be even better! The Get Your Pink On team is planning some very special highlights. There will be games for the kids, a candy-filling station, photo booth, luminaries, food by Sea Glass Café, music, raffle baskets and special guest speakers. We are looking forward to increasing awareness, educating others and making a difference for those affected by this terrible disease. “New Bern Get Your Pink On” is a grassroots, community event that helps local cancer patients. We are counting on our neighbors to donate what they can; time, talent, giveaways or services.

If you are interested in making a monetary donation, reserving a luminary, or donating items to fill raffle baskets for the event, please let us know. We ask that you also consider giving a similar gift for patients who are going through treatment. All donations are tax-deductible.
