New Bern Women’s Expo Makes a Difference!

We had a great time at the New Bern Women’s Expo today, we hope you did too!

If you missed it, we caught up with Judy Avery, General Manager of the Sun Journal and she told us more about this unique Show that they produce every year.

She told us that it’s “designed to celebrate women and their help and their active lifestyle. It’s also designed to be a fundraiser for the American Cancer Society”.

There’s a variety of events that happen throughout the day. This year they had educational classes taught by various Doctors. Attendees enjoyed making jewelry and other things in the art classes. They also had Zumba and Yoga sessions.

Judy said, “We have the Mega Purse Sale Fundraiser. We collected over 1,000 purses from the community and they sell them to raise money for educational programs throughout Craven County”.

Visitors enjoyed shopping, getting pampered by having manicures and/or getting your make-up done.

Both CarolinaEast and CCHC were conducting health screenings and providing information on numerous women related health topics.

In closing, Judy said, “It’s a fun day to come out and make a difference for cancer and your own health and wellbeing”.

Special thanks to Judy Avery and Lori Favre with ENC Shows, participating businesses and non-profits, and everyone for supporting this wonderful event!
