Beginning in January, the New Bern Area Chamber of Commerce has contracted the services of SBS Forward, LLC, a local consulting firm, to assist the chamber with its relational marketing efforts associated with the chamber’s social media integration. The chamber will now be utilizing social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and a variety of others in a much stronger fashion than it has historically. The primary goal of a chamber organization is to promote its members within the chamber community, to the extended business community, and the community as a whole. Social media now touches a much larger handprint of the population, who ultimately are consumers of the goods and services of the members the chamber serves.
