Craven Community College Workforce Development Opportunities

Workforce Development

Provides Affordable Professional Training and Certification in Hundreds of Specialties

Craven Community College’s Workforce Development (WFD) division provides many opportunities for training and re-certification. WFD’s training schedule is year-round and classes are held weekdays, nights, and weekends. WFD’s online classes can be conveniently taken according to the students’ schedule.

We enjoyed learning about the WFD division during our interview with Margaret Chance, Manager, Workforce Development Learning Center. Listen here:

In the past year, over 12,000 Craven County residents took over 1,000 classes. Category of WFD classes include basic skills (e.g., adult high school); customized training for businesses; human resources development (HRD); small business; workforce continuing education; post-secondary career, technical and vocational; and education.

WFD courses are affordable and can be at a fraction of the cost of similar training elsewhere. Some classes are at no cost, low cost, or could qualify for tuition assistance. Classes are held at CCC’s campuses, various locations across the county, at employer locations, and online.
