Sherry Forrest, President of Craven County Partners In Education’s Board of Directors, is pleased to announce that the 2016 Partners In Education Annual Spring Luncheon will feature special guest speaker, Former Gov. James B. Hunt, Jr., who served four historic terms (1977-1985, 1993-2001) as governor of North Carolina.
The luncheon will be held Friday, June 10, 2016, at the New Bern Riverfront Convention and Visitors Center. Doors open at 11:30 am for seating with the event beginning at Noon. Tickets are $25 per person. The Chelsea Restaurant is catering the event serving their famous shrimp and grits, the West Craven Color Guard is presenting the colors, and West Craven Middle School band will provide the entertainment. Linda Staunch, President and CEO of Linda Staunch & Associates, will emcee the event.
Attending the luncheon will be over 600 teachers, school staff members, and community supporters. This event is open to the public and is a great way to show support for our public school educators and administrators. Ms. Forrest explains, “It is an excellent opportunity for our community to show their support of Craven County Schools. All proceeds from the luncheon will be used to support our local schools through PIE grant programs.”
