Fundraiser for “A Brief History of Artists in Eastern NC” Book

Ben Watford

Beer Army Burger Company is hosting a fundraiser to publish artists in eastern North Carolina. The fundraiser will take place on Thursday, January 5, from 10am to 11am at 313 Pollock Street in downtown New Bern.

There will be a silent auction with creative wares such as pottery, paintings, prints and books. The money raised will be used to publish pages about creative people in our community.

Watford is president of the James City Historical Society and sells his pottery and books at Greater Good Gallery at 228 Craven St. Both organizations have teamed up to produce a book entitled, “A Brief History of Artists in Eastern North Carolina”.

Watford explains, “The art history book is a legacy. Future generations will come to understand how artists are trying to make the art world a better place for all of us. This will be a book that teachers in public schools can show their kids what artists do and how artists perform.”
