Each year the staff at Ward and Smith, P.A. selects a local nonprofit to support in lieu of giving interoffice holiday gifts. This year, in honor of The Cheryl Marteney Beginning Teachers’ Cottage, the staff at Ward & Smith donated school supplies, gift cards, and money to purchase supplies for the Beginning Teachers’ Store.  Beginning teachers earn credits from their mentors through a scaled rubric and then shop at the store with their credits. The store provides much needed materials and resources for beginning teachers to assist them in the classroom. Ward and Smith, P.A. has been a part of Partners in Education since 1987 when Cheryl Marteney first joined its Board and continues its support of PIE and the public school system and its teachers through these generous gifts in Cheryl Marteney’s memory.

A “wish list” of supplies can be found at CravenPartners.com. Contact Darlene Brown, Partners In Education, at 252-514-6321 to learn how you can assist with getting these much needed items into the hands of our beginning teachers.
