A Collective Meditation will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 3, 2017, in and around the gazebo at Union Point Park, 210 Front Street, in New Bern.  This free silent event is open to all and is non denominational, non political and is for both novice and experienced meditators.   Participants are encouraged to join the group at any time and sit for as long as they wish during the hour. While not required, participants are welcome to bring a towel, blanket, pillow, chair, etc. to sit on

Inspired by the 1993 study conducted to observe the effects of group meditation on crime statistics in Washington DC, A Hopeful Balance, Durga Yoga,  Green Bear Fitness, New Bern Arts & Wellness Center and The Yoga Mac have joined together to host a One-Hour Collective Meditation.  The purpose of the event is to raise awareness of the benefits of meditation and to demonstrate the positivity that is created when a community joins side-by-side with the shared intention of togetherness and compassion.

​​​​​​In the event of rain, please go to one of the participating yoga studios.  The meditation will still take place.
