Make a Difference in Your Community

New Bern SCOREMentors wanted. Every year, SCORE volunteers help thousands of entrepreneurs and small businesses live their dreams of successfully starting or growing a small business. Give back to your community and be a part of that dream. Sign up to be a SCORE mentor. If you are interested, contact Bruce Simmon at 203-470-1341.

You are good at what you do. Your skills, talents, and business savvy are valuable resources that entrepreneurs and small businesses can tap into. As a score volunteer, not only do you use your knowledge and experience to help others succeed, you support the community in a meaningful way. You can gain a tremendous sense of personal satisfaction from nurturing businesses, so they grow and thrive.

Many of our volunteers also find that their SCORE experience led them to discover new sources of insight and knowledge which have helped in their personal development.

Share Your Expertise

SCORE volunteers provide confidential business mentoring services, both in person and online. They lead seminars and workshops to help small business owners meet their goals and achieve success. They help expand the outreach of SCORE through marketing and alliance building in our local communities. Volunteering at SCORE is a way for you to give back to your community, connect with fellow business owners, and pass on your knowledge to the next generation of entrepreneurs in your community.

11,000+ volunteers helped create more than 54,000 new businesses in 2016.

As a SCORE Volunteer You Can:

– Provide mentoring in person or through email, video, or telephone mentoring from your home or office

– Lead educational workshops and seminars

– Serve in a leadership capacity (Marketing, IT, administration, finance, fundraising, HR, etc.)

– Have flexibility with your volunteering time
