The New Bern Grand Marina Yacht Club, PointClickFish.com, Neuse River Bait & Tackle and this year’s title sponsor, The Fish Grip, have teamed up to bring you the 2018 King of the River Fishing Tournament on August 4th & 5th.
PointClickFish.com, a professional fishing tournament organizer, will be bringing in their state of the art Event Trailer and its famous tournament promotional truck, the local boy scouts will be serving food on Saturday and Sunday, and the public can buy tournament t-shirts on Saturday & Sunday.
The tournament is a 2 day in-shore tournament that and will allow fishing enthusiasts of any skill set a chance to win a grand prize of $5000!
The format will be a Neuse River Slam tournament with a 2 person boat limit each day of:
3 – Speckled Trout
3 – Flounder
1 – Redfish
Anglers will be required to use artificial lures only. A total weight will be generated at the end of each day. The boat with the heaviest total combined weight (Day 1 weight + Day 2 weight) will be crowned “The King Of The River”.
The tournament will also offer daily cash prizes and an “Old Drum Kicker” Pot” where one lucky fisherman can walk away a totally separate pot of money. Boats can enter this category for $50 per boat. The boat with the largest recorded length on our Official Release ruler will be awarded as the winner of this pot! Rules have been posted online.
