Would you like to share an article or information about an upcoming event on this blog? You can do so by sending the information to me via Email for moderation. If it’s appropriate to this blog, it will be posted. Your name, contact information, and website will be listed as the Author. If you prefer to remain Anonymous, your wishes will be respected.

To comment on a previously posted article, you have the following four options:
- Login to your Google account
- Provide your user ID for an Open ID account
- Use the Name/URL option – you don’t need to have a URL, just type your name
- Select Anonymous

Once you’ve selected the above option, write your comment, type the word that’s displayed in the “word identification” box, and submit your comment for moderation by New Bern Now. Comments are moderated to prevent spam and inappropriate language from being posted on the blog.

I hope this will encourage readers to join in the discussions or post a comment to an article.

Editor-in-Chief, Wendy Card, founded New Bern Now in April 2009. There were a number of reasons she developed the website. While stationed in Washington DC, she had 30 days to transfer to Naval Hospital Cherry Point and didn’t know much about the area. She was frustrated because there wasn’t a central location on the Internet for information about New Bern. Wendy retired from the Navy in Oct 2007. When our economy dived, she was trying to find her way in life and decided to give back to the community by creating a website that provided a “One Stop, Information Shop” to help people find out what’s happening in our community along with creating a free business listing to help business owners who couldn’t afford to advertise.
