to Support our Community!

New Bern, NC – Michael Afflerbach, owner of Radio Free ENC and Wendy Card, owner of NC Life Media, are proud to announce an exciting joint venture opportunity to promote New Bern, NC.

Radio Free ENC NewsTalk WNOS 105.9FM and 1450AM sole job is to supply New Bern and Craven County residents with all the information and news they need– whether it is local, regional, state, national, or international.

NC Life Media provides a “One Stop, Information Shop” to residents and visitors of the greater New Bern area via New Bern Now.com and its entities like the NBN’s Quarterly Ledger Publication, Community Blog, YouTube Channel, as well as many more social media network platforms.

Both Mike and Wendy have the same mission – to spread the word of our local non-profits, businesses, and promote our community at large.

Radio Free ENC is working with New Bern Now to create and broadcast a number of daily, weekly, and monthly interviews, audio calendars, and audio postcards; these 1 to 3 minute snapshots will tell the story of what is going, what has gone on in the past, and what is on tap for the future for the City of New Bern and surrounding Craven County communities by talking to the newsmakers, influential characters, and the everyday people who are making it happen.

Wendy Card, along with Laura Johnson who has been helping her with New Bern Now from day one, have joined this project. Together, with Mike and Radio Free ENC, they will be providing these audio vignettes about the communities in New Bern and Craven County, NC.

About New Bern Now
Editor-in-Chief, Wendy Card, founded New Bern Now in April 2009. There were a number of reasons she developed the website. While stationed in Washington DC, she had 30 days to transfer to Naval Hospital Cherry Point and didn’t know much about the area. She was frustrated because there wasn’t a central location on the Internet for information about New Bern. Wendy retired from the Navy in Oct 2007. When our economy dived, she was trying to find her way in life and decided to give back to the community by creating a website that provided a “One Stop, Information Shop” to help people find out what’s happening in our community along with creating a free business listing to help business owners who couldn’t afford to advertise.
