>Tumbledown House in Concert!

Friday, April 13 - Trent River Coffee Company
Saturday, April 14 – Clawson’s Restaurant

Often described as gritty “saloon jazz”, (or sometimes as Tom Waits in a cocktail dress) this duo from Bozeman, MT writes tales about shady characters, eccentric brothel clientele, or a scorned woman out for revenge. These stories are delivered with sultry female vocals reminiscent of a bygone era placed over a jazz guitar accompaniment. Consisting primarily of sultry vocalist Gillian Howe and the eclectic indie-jazz guitar work of Tyler Ryan Miller, Tumbledown House provides the soundtrack for raucous, prohibition-themed parties. Somewhere between the sights and sounds of Deadwood, SD and a 1920’s cabaret, Tumbledown House has created a modern speakeasy sound all their own.

Tickets are $15 general admission, $12 members, and $8 students.

For more information visit: www.downeastfolkarts.org or call  252-633-6444 to reserve tickets.

We are very excited to have this talented duo from Montana joining us in April. Their unique sound is unlike any of our other artists, and will capture imaginations and hearts along the east coast!

About New Bern Now
Editor-in-Chief, Wendy Card, founded New Bern Now in April 2009. There were a number of reasons she developed the website. While stationed in Washington DC, she had 30 days to transfer to Naval Hospital Cherry Point and didn’t know much about the area. She was frustrated because there wasn’t a central location on the Internet for information about New Bern. Wendy retired from the Navy in Oct 2007. When our economy dived, she was trying to find her way in life and decided to give back to the community by creating a website that provided a “One Stop, Information Shop” to help people find out what’s happening in our community along with creating a free business listing to help business owners who couldn’t afford to advertise.
