If you’re looking for something to do this weekend, you don’t have to leave New Bern!

Don’t miss tonight’s Artwalk Downtown New Bern! Visit the art galleries, shops, and participating businesses for a fun evening. Stop by the Bank of the Arts on Middle St. for a list of participating business or call 252-638-2577. Don’t miss Bohemian Night at Michaele’ Rose Watson’s Studio behind the Chelsea at 413B Broad St.

The New Bern Farmers Market is also celebrating Artwalk. Stop in for “All that Jazz – Strawberries and Jazz” and check out the arts, crafts, and goodies from local vendors.

Broad Creek Christian Church is hosting “Coffee House and Talent Show” at 6:30pm – 9:00pm. It’s sponsored by the Jars of Clay Ministry working with people who have special needs. For details call 252-671-0481.

Editor-in-Chief, Wendy Card, founded New Bern Now in April 2009. There were a number of reasons she developed the website. While stationed in Washington DC, she had 30 days to transfer to Naval Hospital Cherry Point and didn’t know much about the area. She was frustrated because there wasn’t a central location on the Internet for information about New Bern. Wendy retired from the Navy in Oct 2007. When our economy dived, she was trying to find her way in life and decided to give back to the community by creating a website that provided a “One Stop, Information Shop” to help people find out what’s happening in our community along with creating a free business listing to help business owners who couldn’t afford to advertise.
