“Radio Laura” Johnson had the pleasure of interviewing Pat Drake, Publicity Chair for the Tryon Civitan Club about their sugar drive during the month of June. Listen to the interview:
The Tryon Civitan Club in conjunction with the UPS Store is having its 5th annual sugar drive to benefit the Religious Community Services.
RCS uses 2,500 pounds of sugar a month. Last week, RCS’s Executive Director told Pat Drake that they were out of sugar in their pantry.
Their goal this year is to collect a ton of sugar (2,000 pounds) during the month of June. Last year they exceeded 1,900 pounds.
You can make a difference by dropping sugar off at the UPS Store at 1822 S. Glenburnie Rd. 252-637-7500 or at Kincaid Family Dentistry, 635 McCarthy Blvd., 252-636-0011.
Special thanks to Pat Drake and the Tryon Civitan Club for all you do for our community. Thanks, Laura, for all your hard work providing “community radio segments” on Radio Free ENC’s WNOS 105.9FM and 1450AM.
