Historical Society Hunts for Ghosts – Ghostwalk Auditions, August 23, 2012

Miss Jane Stewart, Martin Stevenson, and Jeanette Hall

The New Bern Historical Society is on a ghost hunt.  They are seeking both veteran and new ghost actors and to portray characters in this year’s Ghostwalk, Spirited through Time. Ghostwalk brings to life historic characters from New Bern’s past right in the very locations they may have been seen.

Sue Baldwin, Ghost Director, is looking for volunteers, both men and women, ages 18 and up to play the phantom roles, “We’d like actors who are interested in this fun and exciting event, and who can give the time for the event’s three days”. Auditions will be held August 23, 2012 at 7:00pm at the Attmore Oliver House.  Ghostwalk will take place the evenings of October 25-27.

If you are interested in participating in one of New Bern’s premier events as one of the ghostly specters from the past, call or email the New Bern Historical Society office at 252-638-8558 or visit 511 Broad Street, New Bern, NC.

Ghosts of Martin Stevenson, Miss Jane Stewart and Jeanette Hall made appearances at last year’s Ghostwalk.

About New Bern Now
Editor-in-Chief, Wendy Card, founded New Bern Now in April 2009. There were a number of reasons she developed the website. While stationed in Washington DC, she had 30 days to transfer to Naval Hospital Cherry Point and didn’t know much about the area. She was frustrated because there wasn’t a central location on the Internet for information about New Bern. Wendy retired from the Navy in Oct 2007. When our economy dived, she was trying to find her way in life and decided to give back to the community by creating a website that provided a “One Stop, Information Shop” to help people find out what’s happening in our community along with creating a free business listing to help business owners who couldn’t afford to advertise.
