Greater New Bern Business Expo

Laura Johnson and I enjoyed catching up with local businesses and non-profits and learning about new ones at today’s Greater New Bern Business Expo!

The New Bern area Chamber of Commerce along with Chamber volunteers did a great job organizing this annual event. We were very impressed with the newly remodeled New Bern Riverfront Convention Center’s staff as they did a wonderful job hosting the Expo.

Special thanks to vendors for putting on a great show. It was good to see our community coming together to support our businesses and non-profit organizations.

Although we didn’t get a chance to visit every booth, we did have the opportunity to capture a lot of them with pictures. They are published on New Bern Now’s Photo Gallery: http://www.newbernnow.com/NC/greater-new-bern-business-expo-2012.

Thea Kincaid of Thea’s Ideas and Shannon LuQuire of Trade Ideas created special lunches for all the vendors with the help of sponsors: Alpha Graphics of New Bern, CCHC Coastal Radiology, Bear Town Cinema, Mitchell Hardware and the New Bern Riverfront Convention Center.

About New Bern Now
Editor-in-Chief, Wendy Card, founded New Bern Now in April 2009. There were a number of reasons she developed the website. While stationed in Washington DC, she had 30 days to transfer to Naval Hospital Cherry Point and didn’t know much about the area. She was frustrated because there wasn’t a central location on the Internet for information about New Bern. Wendy retired from the Navy in Oct 2007. When our economy dived, she was trying to find her way in life and decided to give back to the community by creating a website that provided a “One Stop, Information Shop” to help people find out what’s happening in our community along with creating a free business listing to help business owners who couldn’t afford to advertise.
