Ghosts of New Bern™ and Carolina Carriage Tours are pleased to announce that this October they will once again offer the very popular Haunted Hayride™ of New Bern’s Downtown Historic District.  The hour-long hayrides begin at Morgan’s Tavern and Grill (235 Craven St.) at 7:30 PM each Friday and Saturday of October beginning on the 11th.  The Haunted Hayride has been a great success and is often sold out.

Guests ride in the rustic comfort of a tractor-drawn hay wagon and will hear tales of the strange occurrences, unusual happenings and ghosts that haunt some of New Bern’s homes and buildings.  The tour’s stories are based on the book, Ghosts of New Bern© by Joseph and Joyce O’Callahan.  Haunted Hayride™ guests are treated to a most entertaining and “spirited” evening as they celebrate over “300 Years of New Bern Ghost Stories”™

Ghosts of New Bern and Carolina Carriage Tours will also continue to offer their regularly-scheduled walking tours and carriage rides. Reservations are required for the Haunted Hayride™.  Space is limited – for tickets and information please call 252-571-4766.

About New Bern Now
Editor-in-Chief, Wendy Card, founded New Bern Now in April 2009. There were a number of reasons she developed the website. While stationed in Washington DC, she had 30 days to transfer to Naval Hospital Cherry Point and didn’t know much about the area. She was frustrated because there wasn’t a central location on the Internet for information about New Bern. Wendy retired from the Navy in Oct 2007. When our economy dived, she was trying to find her way in life and decided to give back to the community by creating a website that provided a “One Stop, Information Shop” to help people find out what’s happening in our community along with creating a free business listing to help business owners who couldn’t afford to advertise.
