Craven Smart Start announces 2nd Annual Holiday Hustle Fundraiser

Craven Smart Start will host the 2nd Annual Holiday Hustle on December 13, 2014. This race event fundraiser, which takes place in downtown New Bern during the Christmas season, will feature a 10Krun, a 5K run/walk and a One Mile Family Fun Run.  Racing starts at Union Point Park at 8AM.  The event will also include a contest for “best holiday spirit costume” with judging at 7:45 AM on race day. Stubbs Perdue is the Presenting Sponsor for the event.

Groups or individuals can register for one of the Holiday Hustle family friendly, fun races.  They include: Jingle Bell Jog 5K & Tinsel 10K with $25.00 registration prior to November 14th or $30 on November 15th until race day.  The One Mile Family Fun Run is $15.00 until November 14th or $20 on November 15th until race day. The cost is $5.00 per person for a family/team discount with 3 or more participants.

Runners/walkers must register by November 14th to guarantee a T-shirt.

Registration fees are non-refundable.

Packet pick-up will be at Craven Smart Start, on Friday, December 12th from 12PM to 7:00PM or at Union Point Park on race day. Cash only at packet pick-up.

Race timed with disposable chips.

Awards for 1st, 2nd, & 3rd place by age and gender.

Proceeds raised from the 2nd Annual Holiday Hustle will be used in Craven County to “give kids a running start” through Smart Start services that will help them to be healthy and successful when they enter school.
