>Disaster Relief Efforts for Haiti

>The Bridgeton United Methodist Church (UMC) in conjunction with M.E.R.C.I. Center, the Disaster Recovery Outreach Mission of the NC Conference of the United Methodist Church is collecting items for Haiti relief. This drive will run from Monday, January 18th through January 29th.

The items needed are:
– Antibiotics
– Over the counter pain meds
– Blankets for children and adults
– Towels
– Washcloths
– 3 oz bar soap in original wrapper
– Toothbrushes in original wrapper
– Large sturdy hair combs
– Large tubes of toothpaste
– Nail files and clippers
– Full size shampoo
– Tarps
– Tents
– Non-perishable food

Please no clothes and no band aids. Remember this is a tropical country, warmth is not a problem; shelter is.

If you wish to give money to defray the costs of shipping these items please make checks payable to: M.E.R.C.I. with Haiti relief in the memo field

Please make no checks payable to Bridgeton UMC.

Items may be brought to the Bridgeton United Methodist Church located at 510 B Street (2 blocks west of Highway 17) in Bridgeton from 9am – 3pm Monday through Friday starting January 18th or call 252-349-3174 (Dick) or 252-259-5331 (Ruth) for drop off appointment or pick-up.
