2010 Scholarship

The Trent Woods Garden Club Scholarship was established to encourage students to further their education in horticulture, turf planting, agriculture, forestry, landscaping, environmental concerns or management in related fields of study. The scholarship shall be for one year of study and the 2010 award shall be $l,000. Criteria The student shall be eligible to graduate from a high school in Craven County in 2010 and shall be accepted at a college, university or community college.

A minimum grade point average of 2.0 is required.

The applicant shall write a short essay telling about himself/herself and his/her goals, interests and reasons for choosing one of the above fields of study.

The applicant shall submit the completed application form, a recent photo, essay and two letters of recommendation – one from a teacher and one from a guidance counselor – to the school’s Guidance Office no later than March 30, 2010.

The application will then be sent to the Scholarship Chairman of the Trent Woods Garden Club for the Scholarship Committee to choose the winner.

The recipient of the scholarship and a parent/guardian will be invited to the Club’s May luncheon to receive the award. Any questions regarding this scholarship or the application form should be addressed to the Scholarship Chairman of the Trent Woods Garden Club.
