Spotlight Shines on “Morris Blueberry Farm”!

We enjoyed our visit to Morris Brothers Blueberry Farm in Bridgeton, NC!

Morris Bros. Blueberry Farm is a family owned by brothers, Jason and Fenner Morris, for over 60 years.

You can eat the blueberries right off the bush! We also learned that “blueberries are a good source of vitamin C; have only 45 calories per half cup; and are low in sodium”.

Tips to keep and freeze your Blueberries from Morris Blueberry Farm:
– Keep under refrigeration until ready to use. Blueberries will continue to ripen if left at room temperature, therefore, it is necessary to use, refrigerate, or freeze them within a few days of picking to avoid over ripening.
– Blueberries can be refrigerated for approximately 7 days.
– To freeze blueberries, simply put them in an airtight container (i.e. Ziploc Freezer bag) and freeze. DO NOT WASH PRIOR TO FREEZING!!! When ready to use frozen blueberries, remove the quantity you will need, rinse, and prepare as recipe directs.
– Blueberries keep nicely in freezer for up to 12 months.

They are open seven days a week from 7am – 6pm thru Mid July. If you’re going to pick your own, they recommend coming early in the morning or in the late afternoon due to the high temperatures.

Save money by picking your own blueberries for $1 per pound or purchase a pre-packaged pint for $2. You can even buy a case for only $20!

Visit Morris Blueberry Farm TODAY and pick your own or purchase already packaged blueberries!

They are located on Hwy 17 N on the left as you cross the Neuse River Bridge into Bridgeton. Please give them a call if you have any questions at 252-637-6630.
