Saturday May 5th, 2012, The Duffy Field Residents Council will be having its 10th Annual DUFFEST.
Included in this year’s events will be the addition of a new and exciting event for middle school aged children. That’s right you guessed it The First Annual DUFFEST Spelling Bee! We hope to get as many as ten children to participate and try to become the first Spelling Bee Champ in DUFFEST History!
Trophies and Prizes will be awarded to all who participate and the event will be hosted by the Craven Community College Student Government Association. We’re expecting a big crowd to come cheer on their favorites so be part of the excitement and watch as we add this educational component to an already family fun filled event.
There will be free rides and lots of fun for everyone. Music, Live Bands and Exciting Speakers are just a small part of this City invited Spring Time Festival. If you would like to have your middle school aged child registered please contact Van Cuthbertson via email or call him at 252-639-7525 from 8am-5pm, and he will be happy to get your child signed up.

Duffest will be held at the Stanly White Recreation Center in the Henderson Park Field. Transportation and Parking will be provided at the Armstrong Wholesale Grocery parking lot. Enterprise rental car agency of New Bern is partnering with Craven Community College SGA as Signature Sponsors, Corporate Sponsors include: Swiss Bear Downtown Development Organization, and The Flame Catering and Banquet Facilities. The City of New Bern, Greater Duffyfield Residents Council and the Neuse River CDC have partnered to make DUFFEST possible and free for the public and all are encouraged to attend and enjoy the fun.
