In honor of the College’s 50th Anniversary

Friday, January 16 and Monday, January 19, 2015

Where and When:

–   Assembling Care Packages for deployed U.S. Marine Corps Air Squadron – Friday, January 16, 5 p.m. – 7 p.m. in Redd Building, Room 107, Havelock Campus. CCC staff, faculty and student volunteers will be packing up donated supplies that will be sent to Marine Corps unit VMM-262 (“Flying Tigers” Marine Medium Tiltrotor Squadron 262; based in Okinawa, Japan). The goal of this service project is to send at least 50 care packages in honor of the college’s 50th anniversary. For more information, call Veronica Abreu at 252-444-1713.

– Pollock Street Clean Up – Monday, January 19, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m. CCC staff, faculty and student volunteers will be cleaning up a section of Pollock Street, near Trent Boulevard, in New Bern in conjunction with the #lovecraven local volunteer service organization. The goal of this service project is for volunteers to achieve 50 volunteer service “man-hours” in honor of the college’s 50th anniversary. For more information, call Kimberley Clark at 252-288-5515.

Who: Volunteer students, staff and faculty from Craven Community College.

Why: In honor of its 50th anniversary, CCC volunteers will participate in two Dr Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service projects. The Dr MLK Jr. Day of Service is a part of United We Serve, the President’s National Call to Service Initiative. For more information: www.mlkday.gov; #mlkday
