New Bern business coach and therapist Lee Chaix McDonough’s first book, ACT on Your Business, debuted this month as Amazon’s No. 1 new release in business entrepreneurship. Her book for entrepreneurs and small business owners reveals how to have the right mindset for success in both business and life.

Using her evidence-based methodology for entrepreneurial flexibility, McDonough teaches the tools needed to get in touch with what’s most important to you and your business, to transform your deepest, darkest thoughts and feelings from enemies to allies, and to anchor yourself in the midst of any personal or professional storm.

With over fifteen years of experience as a social worker, therapist, and ICF-certified coach, Lee Chaix McDonough understands the challenges that solo-entrepreneurs encounter as they start and build their businesses: “I know the particular flavor of frustration that comes with a one-step-forward, two-steps-back approach to building a practice from the ground up. I’ve lived through it all, come out the other side, and now I help other professionals do the same with a solid process.”

“Act on Your Business provides a process that encourages business owners to identify and align with their core values, which then empowers them to confidently move forward when making decisions and encountering unexpected challenges,” explains McDonough.

The lessons are delivered in an easy conversational style that makes the reader feel as if they are having their own personal session with the author. The book also provides tactical exercises to immediately implement the six core processes.

On March 5, McDonough will have a book signing at the Coastal Women’s Forum (CWF) Trade Share. The annual mini-trade show is an opportunity for CWF members to share their products and services. As part of her writing process, McDonough asked her CWF sisters to hold her accountable through developing her book. She noted, “Surrounding yourself with a team of like-minded people, to keep you on track and to cheer you on, makes the journey so much easier.”

Lee Chaix McDonough, LCSW, MSPH, ACC is the founder of Caravel Coaching and a business coach for helpers, healers, and creatives. She lives in New Bern, North Carolina with her husband, two sons, and adorably mischievous pug. Act on Your Business is available through Amazon.
