Families in Trent Woods now have a new playground called Cottle Park on River Road. The Rotary Club of New Bern helped fund the $115,000 project started by a local non-profit, Give-Grow Foundation. The $10,000 gift made possible the purchase of a “family” of slides, climbing and children’s playground equipment to compliment a complete facility for children of all ages. “It’s all installed and waiting for a safety fence …” commented Joe Geiger, founder of Give Grow.
Grants made by the Rotary Club of New Bern come from fund-raising projects like Sham-Rockin’2019 and the sale of MumFest banners. In the past ten years, the club has provided over $400,000 in grants to local projects.
