Arts to End Genocide - Drinking Water

Most of Bamako, Mali’s street children do not have safe drinking water. Their only source of hydration is water from polluted rivers. When these children are weakened by lack of proper nutrition they are easily affected by various diseases caused by bacteria and parasites living in this unclean water. Lack of access to water and sanitation  is a matter of  life and death. Contaminated water and inadequate  sanitation help transmit diseases like diarrhea, cholera, dysentery and typhoid. In Africa, more than 500,000 children die every year from diarrheal diseases caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation.

ATEG is raising funds to install a shower system at our Bamako clinic, to provide street children with clean water for bathing and for filling up their water bottles. This should significantly reduce the number of children dying from water borne illnesses. These children’s lives matter! Your donation matters!. On # GivingTuesday please donate through GlobalGiving https://goto.gg/24187.
